The Bloom Forum | Fab 15 | Week 10 | Quiet / Alone

This week has REALLY worked on me. In many ways. We were a doctor down at the clinic and busy to boot. And I have been racking my brain to figure out what I wanted to submit for this weeks Bloom Forum Project 52…our theme this week is Quiet/Alone. NOTHING in my life ever seems this way. The kids are almost always going… and I wan’t ABOUT to do some flash photography while they slept… So I thought and thought and even googled for ideas. I was about to post a idea request/poll on FB and then I tried to think: “WHEN DO I FEEL QUIET AND ALONE” To me, that is peace. I love “MY” time. When I don’t have someone pulling me in 20 different directions, or people complaining that return their phone call fast enough. When I can just spend some time with my passion.

Photography Time.

Forum Time.

Bloom Time.

This is when I feel quiet, at peace, alone. And I love it.

Now head on over to see what Robyn Oakenfold, of Little Bug Photography has submitted for this week!

Erin Norman | Las Vegas Engagement and Couples Photographer - I too, love spending my quiet time like that :) You gotta through a little Facebook in there for good measure, lol!

Paws Rescue Photo Shoot

I hope to start using some of my photographic obsession to help our local animal rescue, PAWS to find homes for their adoptees. This little guy made an excellent subject. Still a lot of practice to do! Its a lot harder than I thought it would be to get “those” shots that I really am after. But hopefully these will be good enough to help snag this little guy a home! Please check out PAWS Rescue for your next furry buddy or help with donations!

Amy Lucy - Oh he is precious! I adore that you are helping these precious animals by using your photography skills to take beautiful photos of them. This little guy is going to make someone very happy!

The Bloom Forum | Fab 15 | Week 9 | Old

Another week of the great Bloom Forum’s Project 52! This week our theme is “Old”

Last Sunday, our family wanted to go for a ride on the ranger at the deer camp. For some reason, we didn’t realize it was going to be so cold and rode around with our heads bundled up with hoods and mittens made out of old socks. Apparently this guy didn’t get the memo about the temperature drop either. Luckily, for Travis ( my husband) the cold temps had slowed him down enough so that he didn’t lose any fingers when he picked him up. (Don’t try this at home kids…..)

Anyway… when I started showing people these photos, the first comment would be : ” WOW… that looks old!” I kinda had to do it. So SURPRISE! A big nasty old green snapping turtle for your viewing pleasure!

Now head on over to see what Robyn Oakenfold, Calgary Photographer has in store for us this week!

Amy Lucy | Twin Cities Newborn, Baby, and Child Photographer - […] so visitors and friends can see how we each interpreted the week’s theme.  Continue on to Vicksburg Photographer Rachel Potter to see her “old” […]

Erin Norman | Las Vegas Baby and Children's Photographer - Ew! This actually made me think of that giant turtle in The Neverending Story that’s so old. Funny that my brain works that way…
But great detail on those shots!

Christina - Great shots here, I’ve always been fascinated with turtles. Don’t these turtles bite? That tongue, ick! lol

Amy Lucy - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a turtle so close! You such amazing clarity in these. Perfect for old!

robyn - oh my goodness… amazing! that turtle totally looks old.

Stacey S - GAH!!! I so didn’t expect your photo LOL!! Really awesome – my son thinks it’s way cool and way old!!

Carrie - Oh my! These are amazing photos…such clarity in your captures and I love the colors. Awesome!

jules - so cool! I wonder how old it is? great shot!

kristin young - oh my! the last one has me giggling! what a great shot–he does kinda look old. super cool shots!

Rachel - Oh my heavens!! The last one is my favorite… that thing looks nothing like the turtle I have tattooed on my toe…

Tamara - Great shots! Very old glad no fingers got in his way!!

Dana - Wow! I am so terrified of reptiles in general-you have a brave hubby!!!! That said the images you got of this guy are nothing short of completely amazing. How are you liking the 85 on the crop sensor? Thinking of getting one…you know my list is miles upon miles long :)

Cara - Fantastic Rachel. I’m glad your husband did not get bitten I could imagine some nasty infections coming from that mouth. Great shots!

The Bloom Forum | Fab 15 | Project 52 | Week 7 | Hot or Cold

Another week for The Bloom Forum’s Project 52 group. This week our theme is Something Hot or Cold. A couple of weeks ago I would have had really cool ice storm pics.. but this week we’ve had 70 degree weather… not too hot. So I found myself some artificial heat… a gas stove! This week was good because it made me get out there and work with the settings on my camera to try to catch a constantly moving brightly lit target. I would have KILLED to have my 100mm L IS Macro here already… but alas it is on a boat/plane/homing pigeon somewhere over the Pacific Ocean… making its way to little ole me. But I digress… My point is that it would have been awesome to get a little closer in on this, but my focus wouldn’t get that close… NOT so with my new baby!!! Hopefully it will be here in time for next weeks post!

Now head on over to Carrie Terrones, Las Vegas Photographer and see what she’s got! And don’t forget to leave us some love!!!

Stacey S - What a great idea for this week! Awesome shot.

AmandaB - oooh, that’s neat!

Jessica N - Oh I love this shot. I wanted to much to shoot a blue flame but this rental has an electric stove. Congrats on your new macro. Can’t wait to see shots.

Tamara - neat shot. Looking forward to seeing your macro shots. I just got 100mm macro and am anxious to use it on a newborn this wednesday.

Carrie - Wow….love what you did without your macro….can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Carrie Owens - fantastic image! Very cool shot!

Christina - Great composition & DOF. Cool shot!

Amy Lucy - That blue is so vibrant! Very creative shot!
