For the Love of Film: January

So this month you have the bonus of TWO posts!  Woohoo!

I was such a good girl and got my film in on time!   I took these on a foggy Wednesday morning that I had off.    By the time I got to most of them the fog had burned off.    My goal was to FIND COLOR….I am struck by how much  I was able to find in the December!  (and yes… that is our pumpkin from October… don’t hate!)

Our Challenge this month was Medium Format,   Color Film at 800 ISO or higher and window light.   I cheated on the last one.   oops.

Shot with “Maude”, my Mamiya 645 Pro using Portra 800

Enjoy!!!

This image is special to me in that two years ago I shot this struggling transplant for my Project 52… which can be seen  HERE!!!

Now head on over to my friend, Annie Mae Melton and see what beautiful imagery she has for us this month!!

Kerry L. - Rachel, I love the tones in these! The colors are so “true” to life. And the collapsing pumpkins – very cool!

Kim - Rachel, I just love the colors you got out of this. And I’m so glad that you left those pumpkins out, they’ve been my favorite images to mark the turn of seasons from fall to winter. Love the close ups too, the bokeh is beautiful. Such a winter solitude about it.

Dena Robles - Okay, your pumpkins are all kinds of awesome. The fading color and focus on that particular one really draw me in too.

JennyO - Love the colours Rachel, and my absolute fave are the pumpkins!

sharon kain - Rachel! The tones in these are so beautiful!!! My favorite is the berries :)

Michael Foster - Still love the pumpkin shot. :)

Annie - Oh, your December colors are very very nice! I think I am in love with those big colorful autumn trees. Beautiful work finding color all around you Rachel!

Jen - gorgeous colors. Ohh! I need to pick my fillm cameras back up again. I love shooting with my HOlga and I need to learn my 645 medium format cam!!

Aruba Photographers - The pictures are beautiful. You are doing great work. These gorgeous images will surely help to get these dogs a great home!
