Seamus the Great | Mississippi Pet Photographer

So this weekend I finally got to meet, Seamus (pronounced Shay-mus: I found out that all this time I have been saying it wrong in my head!) Melanie brought him over for some photography practice and chit chat! He is SO beautiful and so fun to photograph! He did well despite all of the four-legged (and a couple 2 legged) distractions here at our home. Thank you so much Melanie for bringing him and letting me have some fun!

melanie - What a nice surprise when i checked facebook tonight :-) Love them all of course. I see he did much better without me in the room – ha! Trying to pick a favorite and i couldn’t although the black and white really speaks very loudly to me!

Unleashed 2012 ~ Pet Photography Workshop

This weekend I had one of the BEST photography experiences in my life! I had heard about Unleashed workshops for a while now, but knew that they had been discontinued. I was totally heartbroken. Then one night a little over a month ago, I stumbled upon a website that mentioned that they were going to give it another go… I spent the next 24 hours figuring out how I could make it happen, and I am SO glad I did. Teresa Berg and Bev Hollis were BEYOND wonderful! This workshop gave me the nudge to put my photography where I really want it to be. Not only that… I got to meet some amazing other photographers who were just as excited as I was about being there! I hope you enjoy this share. This is only a very small portion of the images we shot. I will post more as I have time to get to them!

Barbara - These images take my breath away! So beautiful! Thanks so much for getting the word out so I could go too!

Bev - You totally rocked these. Spectacular work. It was wonderful having you!

Reena - Looks like a great workshop! I was so excited to have found the workshop page but it was too late! will look forward to hearing more about it from you! and hope they have another one.

Abbeygail - These are some really wonderful photos! I’ve heard about the workshop for a long time as well, but it’s hard to find the time or the finances to get out there from Canada. I really hope they don’t discontinue this workshop so that I can have a chance at it!

Tanya - Gorgeous images!! Love the review, thank you for sharing :)

Dana - I am so glad you were able to attend this. It has been so cool to watch your photography journey. I am so blessed to call you my friend <3. These images are fantastic!!! I can't wait to see many more!

Steve Asmussen - Unleashed Workshops are fantastic and your work is, too!

Lisa Benemelis - All of these images are so beautiful, Rachel. I look forward to seeing more. :)

The girl who stole my heart…

Some of you may know that our family had the privilege of spending some time with an amazing little girl this past month. What started from a heartbreaking disaster turned into one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. These images were taken the day before she met her grandmother for the first time.

In addition to her mother… this little girl had one other love: Mutt, A tattered, worn, patched and deeply cherished stuffed lamb. Wherever she went… Mutt wasn’t far behind. On the precipice of this emotional time… he became more important to her than ever.

She is now gone, and has left a little hole in my heart where her constants hugs used to be. I am so blessed that not only I was able to cherish and love an amazing and smart little girl, but also to share her with family who had never been given the chance to know her. We helped her pack her bag, and I was so proud of her. She was nervous, but brave and excited as well. Her grandmother reports that she is doing wonderfully in her new environment… with grandpas, cousins and SIBLINGS! Oh My!

You will forever be in my heart, Rowan… I love you.

Kelly R - Rachel! These images are so beautiful and strong. You are such a strog and amazing woman who helped fill this little girl’s heart when she needed it most. Your powerful images here show just that. Stunning photography !!!

Lisa Benemelis - What a beautiful thing you have done for this special little girl. <3 These images are breathtaking, Rachel — absolutely gorgeous.

Allison Jacobs - These are such gorgeous captures Rachel! I feel like I can sense the sweetness of her right through the screen. <3

Kim - These are so incredible, Rachel. You’ve captured the connection between Rowan and her little mutt just beautifully.

Ashley Spaulding - It’s sometimes hard to figure out why things happen as they do, but there’s no doubt in my mind that the things that have happened in beautiful Rowan’s life happened because she was meant to meet you. You’ve captured her (and Mutt) so beautifully, Rachel, and I know that you will both be forever in each others’ hearts.

Lexie - Rachel! These are just beautiful!!!

Jennifer Jentz - Oh Rachel, although I am always a fan of your work, these are so ~very~ lovely. I have completely fallen in love with this precious girl – what a gift you were able to give AND get!! <3

Joyce Kang - These are such beautiful images and they say so much! Rachel you have a such a big heart to welcome this little girl into your life. God bless!

melissia - Well no one knows what an amazing emotional roller coaster this was for you. But knowing you and knowing her, you where such a blessing to each other. I love mutts pictures. You have a wonderful gift of both photography and your heart!!!

A boy and dirt…

Its summertime… There is a plethora of dirt and dust and that means a vast playground for any boy! I’m so glad that Cameron is more into dirt than any TV show or computer game… I hope it stays that way.

Annie - Really love this series!!
